one night when trees were bare
and the lunar eclipse
influenced the light of the night,
that's when we knew that it was real

it's common to know that sunshine and rainbows
sprouts in heavenly beginnings,
but as the time went by
fire confronted me inside your house.

your mother talked about 
the past and rivers you went through
my heart lost its anchor
and fell down to my feet.

your past was a work of art
to mesmerize and pain me,
and I felt both the pride
going up and breaking down.

it was when I realized
I was too much or I was not enough,
not even a single .5 step
to enter your life and persevere until the end.

and then we were walking
to go to my place 
when you said "I love you"
that's when I knew mine was more and "too"

I've been to battles and shame. Different cities formed or maybe I sparkled them with both my imperfection and grace. Before we landed into people's arms of our history, our minds had ideas that the love was like either playing with fire or lying on snowflakes, noting that it would only suffice the temporary. We thought about bells and rings with them. But with you, it's an eternal field of sunshine and storms. The power of stability and it's not even poetic to finally settle in this grace. You see right through me that the ghosts I buried in history couldn't match the bones I buried in the long midyear months. Real love knows no history and knows no fear. Our love surpasses them all.
