I'm Proud of You

I'm proud of you

when you look at the mirror

and see a reflection of your past eyes.

They were soft, sparkling, humble

looking up to you.

I'm proud of you for

surpassing fears and battling alone.

For doing your best to people,

for feeling scared and feeling angry.

I'm proud of you for

handling situations that nobody witnessed.

How you smiled when people around you

talked bad things to other people

and how you took back steps to make others satisfied.

I'm proud of you for

coming home whenever you felt like falling.

For holding back your tears

and for flowing them flawlessly

when you laid in your bed while the world was having fun.

I'm proud of you for crying

on internet dogs and missing yours.

For allowing your solitude to be vulnerable.

Whenever you miss your parents

but you have to stand strong to face adulthood.

I'm proud of you for showing your demons

and conforming to laughter

in order to construct with what's better

and what's in the traditional order.

They were against to your belief but you gave room.

I'm proud of you for giving up your plans

and slowing down,

for allowing yourself to fall in love and in life.

For inviting your friends indecisively

to join you in parties.

I'm proud of you for showing your changes.

For being indestructible because in fact

nobody cares, they just want to know

for them to swallow their gossip's standard tastes

and to add snacks in friendships' reunion.

I'm proud of you for standing up

more than the times you fell down.

For looking back at the mirror

and discovered that you were a

masterpiece because you realized, you are indeed beautiful.
